By Car:

From San Jose you drive 1.5 h downhill to the port town of Puntarenas .
In Puntarenas take the ferry to Paquera which takes you on a scenic 1.5 h boat trip across the Gulf of Nicoya. From Paquera it takes 1 h to drive the 46 km past Tambor and Cobano to Mal Pais.

By Minibus:

From the San José Airport or many other destinations in Costa Rica we can arrange a transfer by minibus to or from Moana Lodge.
